Everyone knows Britney Spears. From her start as a teen pop star to her journey through conservatorship, her name and image have become integral to pop culture over the last two decades. She's been loved, admired, and praised just as much as she's been exploited, stifled, and taken advantage of. In recent years, Britney has been put in a box and has had her freedom stolen. Despite (and because of) her wild success, she is no longer in control of her money, estate, business affairs, or body. She's being used as a toy, bent out of shape and sold for profit, to fit the narrative of the media, and of her conservators. The #FreeBritney movement will not slow down till the star is liberated and gets to enjoy the success she has spent her whole life building. She just deserves happiness.
