One of my colleagues recently told me he wrote a few haikus and up until that point I hadn't considered that haikus could be used for deeper meanings than the funny ones written in English class. My haiku here has two meanings, my contemplation of the form, and a small reflection of the tendency to overthink. Nearly everyone, me definitely included, has overthought something or other, and this poem is a small commentary on the futility of that.
