“Good as hell” is a phrase used to point something out that is exceptional. The song “Good as Hell” by Lizzo was made to raise the spirits of heartbroken women.

The song is presented through the point-of-view of someone who is going through self-esteem issues due to the mistreatment by a romantic partner. Women getting their self-confidence ravaged via toxic relationships is somewhat of a common occurrence. Lizzo uses the song to encourage those who are heartbroken or who have been hurt to get on with their lives and be cheerful again rather than brood over the past.

Let’s start with these lyrics: “I’ll do my hair toss, check my nails.” In essence, do that often to show you are not bordered about anything. The video compliments the track as it tells the story of a woman that was jilted by her lover during her school’s homecoming week. The song was very tuneful and expressive as Lizzo sang the lyrics.

The empowerment of women is at the heart of this anthem, a fact that deserves not to be erased. The music video is eclectic with women of color: doing the work of preparing themselves for the world and then feeling themselves in the most glorious sense. "If he don't love you anymore / Just walk your fine ass out the door” are lyrics particularly made for women— for the idea of leaving some no-good man who doesn't see their beauty.

Her uplifting lyrics narrate each characters’ storyline-- starting with a cheerleader that is down in the dumps over her relationship. "Woo, child, tired of bulls--t / go on, dust your shoulders off, keep it moving / yes, Lord, tryna get some new s--t / in there, swimwear, going to the pool s--t." Lizzo sings as the cheerleader gets ready for the game with the help of her teammate. In the video, each character is able to put their doubts and insecurities aside to deliver a memorable performance.

The lyrics "Walk your fine ass out the door" is permission to exit from whatever version of yourself that doesn't believe in the other you: the best, most true to yourself you. Overall, the purpose of this song is to uplift people. Women need to focus more on themselves as opposed to their negative lovers. As a reminder ladies, you don’t need a crown to know that you’re a queen!
